SIX GOALS MARGIN AT ELLAND ROAD

CUP FINAL WITH BRADFORD

Leeds United made their entry into the final of the West Riding Senior Cup by defeating Huddersfield Town by seven to one in the semi-final at Elland Road, yesterday evening, before 8,000 people. After the match at a special meeting of the West Riding Committee, it was decided to play the final between Bradford and Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday. Mr T.G. Bryan, who officiated in the F.A. Cup Final, was appointed referee. United made one change from the team which was defeated at Stoke. Roberts taking the place of Townsley at right back. Huddersfield Town also made a change, Pickering displacing Barkas. Leeds gave an excellent display against a tired team, and after the first goal were "all over" their opponents. United faced a strong wind at the start, but were quickly prominent. Wainscoat and Mitchell showing fine form on the left flank, soon had the Town defence in a tangle, Pickering being erratic at full back. Turnbull delighted the spectators with a fine run down the right wing. After seventeen minutes play United took the lead, a fine run down the left wing by Mitchell ending in Keetley netting from his centre. Town then had a look in, Jackson being prominent with a good dribble, but Reed and Menzies checked him. United then went further ahead as a result of a fine individual run by Mitchell, who scored from near the corner flag. A few minutes later Keetley scored with a splendid oblique shot giving the home side a three goal lead at the interval. The second half opened sensationally. White and Turnbull started a movement, and a bad slip by Pickering left Mitchell , who had run in from the wing, with an empty goal to shoot into. United continued to monopolise the play and after twenty minutes had gone Mitchell added a fifth goal. Five minutes later Keetley put in a sixth, and the best goal of the match came near the close. Wainscoat, who had been playing in masterly fashion, tricked five opponents before passing to Keetley who gave Turner no chance. Town played disappointingly, and did not reveal their form until a minute from the end, when Raw got their only goal. Result: Leeds United 7 goals, Huddersfield Town 1 goal.
